Chackalethu John Yesudasan has a cartooning career spanning four decades. The 1938 born artist drew his first cartoons for Janayugom, the communist party organ, in 1960 and three years later joined the Shanker's weekly.

After returning to Kerala in 1969, he took over as the editor of Balayugam, a children's magazine, and edited Asadha, Cut-Cut and Tuk-Tuk, three cartoon magazines on the lines of Punch. Joining the Malayala Manorama group in 1985, he is running cartoon columns in Malayala Manorama Daily, weekly and The Week magazine.

Former Chairman Kerala Cartoon Academy, Former Chairman of Lalit Kala Academy and Member of Kerala Sahitya Academy, Mr. Yesudasan has also written scripts for two Malayalam Films.

He has won about a dozen of awards including The Cartoonist of The Year Award of National Film Academy in 1998, Millennium Award for Best Cartoonist 2000 and Cartoonist of The Decade Award from the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam.

He stays at Kochi along with his wife. He has three sons.
